The Perfect Choice For A Pleasant Stay!

Attractions - What to See and Do in the region

Rail car enthusiasts flock to Pleasant Point as it has the world's only Ford Model T railcar on display. The local museum holds frequent 'steaming days' where engines pull carriages from days gone by on short trips. The town is home to Dunheath custard squares and the unique O'Rourke Taxidermists.

Nearby you will find an award-winning winery, so make sure you visit the Opihi vineyard for wine-tasting and a snack. As well as being a place where you can kick back and unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life, Pleasant Point is the place to stay. Even a scenic drive through the countryside is an attractions itself showing you the diversity and the endless natural beauty of the rolling South Canterbury hills.

Pleasant Point is an ideal location for base camp with only a short commute to MacKenzie Playground. Skiing at Mt Dobson or Round Hill. Skate, snow tube or relax in the hot tubs at Tekapo Springs Winter Park at Lake Tekapo. Spend a day at Caroline Bay and the Aquatic Centre Timaru.

Forget about the BIG CITIES. We have it all on our door step.
